Press Releases Walker Art Center Presents Kronos Quartet X 2: Two Distinctly Different Programs Showcasing Fearless Musical Exploration

“Boisterously breaking down nearly every conceivable genre barrier that ever existed for the string quartet, this audacious ensemble has changed our perception of not just what a string quartet can be, but what music can be in the 21st-century global village.” —Musical America

No other ensemble has transformed the sound of chamber music in recent decades more than the charismatic Kronos Quartet. David Harrington (violin), John Sherba (violin), Hank Dutt (viola), and Jeffrey Zeigler (cello) return to the Walker Art Center after an eight-year absence with Kronos Quartet x 2, two distinctly different programs that showcase their fearless spirit of exploration and experimentation as well as their theatrical, even playful approach in concert. Kronos Quartet performs the program Music without Borders on Friday, February 4, and Sonic Edge: Indie, Rock, Jazz, Beyond on Saturday, February 5. Both performances begin at 8 pm in the William and Nadine McGuire Theater.
