Minneapolis, August 19, 2013—The Walker Art Center’s Target Free Thursday Nights in September feature a Chef-in-Residence event with Peter Ireland (Thursday, September 5) and A Preview of the 2013-2014 Performing Arts Season (Thursday, September 5). Target Free Thursday Nights in September also includes a Teen Art Lounge (Thursday, September 19), and Conversation: The Politics of Home with University of Minnesota history professor Tracey Deutsch (Thursday, September 19).

Thursday, September 5

Tastings with Chef-in-Residence Peter Ireland
Gather by D’Amico, 5–9 pm

Thursday evenings at Gather by D’Amico feature $5 small plates and drink specials, and limited-edition dishes from a roster of stellar guest chefs who share tastings each month.

In September, we welcome chef-in-residence Peter Ireland of The Lynn on Bryant. Join him at the Walker for tastes from his small plates menu, exclusively at Gather this month.

Performing Arts Season Preview
McGuire Theater, 7pm

Join Philip Bither, McGuire Senior Curator of Performing Arts, for stories about the upcoming season—including exclusive videos from the artists and behind-the-scenes insights on dance, theater, and music programs from around the globe. After the presentation, meet him onstage for a champagne toast, followed by a backstage tour of the McGuire Theater.

Teen Art Lounge
Star Tribune Foundation Art Lab, 5-8pm

Teen Art Lounge is a monthly night for young artists to hang out, make art, meet other artists, and learn new techniques and processes with other teens at the Walker. Conversation: The Politics of Home
Medtronic Gallery, 7pm

Join a conversation about gender and domesticity, led by University of Minnesota history professor Tracey Deutsch, which takes place in the exhibition Fritz Haeg: At Home in the City while quilting with artists from Madame, a queer community art space in Minneapolis.
