Joep van LieshoutJoep van Lieshout, who is he?
Joep van Lieshout is a 34-year old man, director of Atelier van Lieshout, who is fond of racing and flying. He has medium-length, dark hair, and green-tinted glasses, and he always wears brightly colored shirts. He's a Dutch artist with an irrepressible urge to create. He dubs himself a "romantic artist" because when he's designing, he allows himself to be guided by his intuition. He also designed the Art Lab and the wooden house you're standing in front of at the moment.

What is Atelier van Lieshout?
On graduating from Rotterdam art academy, Joep started work as an artist. At a certain point he acquired a trainee student, which was perfect as the work kept rolling in. Joep became better known and the commissions increased. More and more people joined the work force and for some time, Joep was no longer designing all the work that came in single-handed. So the name was changed to Atelier van Lieshout to point-up the fact that it was a collaboration. "Atelier" is another word for an artist's or designer's studio or workroom.
