Summer Music & Movies 2014: Playing with Time

The Walker’s popular perennial showcase of free films and eclectic music returns to Loring Park and Open Field this summer. Bands kick-start each evening—look for a mix of local and national luminaries and DJ hosts from 89.3 The Current spinning between the music and films.

The first three movies in the park all deal with time—from nail-biting film noir to a hilarious take on the countdown to nuclear disaster. On August 25 at Open Field, “an extraordinary evening of looking and listening” (New York Times) features Christian Marclay’s Screen Play with a live score by Laurent Estoppey, Ikue Mori, and Anthony Coleman. The event also marks the closing night of Marclay’s The Clock, a 24-hour cinematic tour de force that unfolds in real time.
