Legacy Circle: Funding the Spark

“The Walker has been in my life and heart for more than 20 years. I enjoy visiting the galleries, getting caught up in the experience, and expanding my mind. My earliest Walker memory was the Joan Mitchell exhibition in 1999. After that, I learned all I could about her, her process, use of color, and more. I’m still into abstract expressionists, and they will always be a part of my collection, including, as it happens, a recently acquired Mitchell.

I also still love learning about new artists. I follow what speaks to me and collect pieces I can’t live without; whatever happens after that is simply a bonus. Even the most prominent collectors I know would agree: follow your heart, and when you find ‘the one,’ buy it, you’ll thank yourself later.

I included the Walker in my estate plans because leaving a legacy is a meaningful way to share with both family and our collective society. Art brings people together, no matter circumstance or background. I have found a life-long passion for collecting and met the most amazing humans through art. While I look forward to being involved for many years to come, I’m grateful to play a part in igniting that spark in others in the future.”
