Dissolving boundaries between art and audience, garden and gallery, museum and metropolis
Located in the heart of Minneapolis, the Walker presents, collects, and supports the creation of groundbreaking work across the visual and performing arts, moving image, and design.
We engage communities through a dynamic array of exhibitions, performances, screenings, events, and initiatives. Our multi-acre campus includes 65,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, the state-of-the-art McGuire Theater and the Walker Cinema. Just across the street, you’ll find the art-filled Minneapolis Sculpture Garden—free and open daily year-round, 6 am–12 midnight.
Visual Arts curates shows and experiences that explore the big ideas of our time.
Performing Arts presents boundary-pushing works of theater, dance, and music.
Moving Image explores the outer reaches of film as a medium in our Cinema and Mediatheque.
The Walker’s Public Engagement, Learning & Impact team brings communities together for experiences with contemporary art, artists, and ideas. Our programs spark curiosity and creativity, dialogue and delight.

It takes a team of nearly 200 full-time employees, plus part-time staff, to cultivate an environment where everybody can access out-of-the-ordinary experiences. Whether our work is public-facing or behind-the-scenes, we elevate our efforts to an art form.
