Time 6–8 pm

Join us for an evening exploring the exhibition Trisha Brown and Robert Rauschenberg: Glacial Decoy with exhibition curator Brandon Eng. The night begins with a discussion on the work in Gallery 7, followed by a movement workshop with Benny Olk, a Minneapolis-based dance artist, maker, and teacher.

Immediately after the discussion, the workshop invites all to move and be moved by the spirit and remains of Glacial Decoy. Through scores and movement practices, Olk centers improvisation to explore how memory and impulse can function as tools for composition. Participants will focus on both solos, duets, and larger group configurations of how to move together and apart, leading and following, internal and external.

This is an open-level class and all are welcome. Dancing and composition are self-defined. Please wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in.

Gallery admission is free on Thursday nights, 5 to 9 pm.
