SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Explore: The NEST
10 am–3 pm
Play, make, and imagine an identity for an elusive, migrating Creature and help it feel at home in the Twin Cities with The NEST. This playscape is created by you with found objects and art materials while you explore clues, make artifacts, and embody stories of difference and place through creative play in an evolving installation space.
Megan Flød Johnson is an interdisciplinary artist who imagines new art experiences that fuse inquiry-driven installation spaces with participatory performance. She founded The NEST, and co-creates with young people and families as a form of civic engagement. Johnson presents unique performance and art-making experiences for children that designate space for process, dialogue, experimental thinking, play, and welcoming multiple points of view.

10 am–3 pm
The two best rescuers in the region take off for yet another mission. Everything does not go as planned…(Written and directed by Léo Brunel, Loris Cavalier, Camille Jalabert, Oscar Mallet. 2018, France, 6 min).

Sensory Friendly Sunday
Sunday, February 9, 8–11 am, Free
Sensory Friendly Sunday is a monthly event designed for kids, teens, and adults with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. The galleries will be closed to the general public, allowing visitors to enjoy the museum in a calm environment with accommodations such as quiet spaces, noise-reduction headphones, and sunglasses available.
In February, join local art educator Lauren Bina in the Art Lab to create stamped prints inspired by the landscapes featured in the exhibition Five Ways In: Themes from the Collection. Then visit the galleries to learn about how contemporary artists use nature as inspiration in their work.
While walk-ins are welcome, we encourage you to reserve your space ahead of time. Register online.
