Walker Art Center Presents Family Tour and Workshop on the Portraits of Elizabeth Peyton

A unique tour at the Walker Art Center on Saturday, March 21, 1–3 pm, brings together art enthusiasts of all ages for an exploration of painter Elizabeth Peyton’s “pictures of people.” Designed for adults and children ages 10–14, the combination tour and workshop lets visitors indulge their people-watching curiosities as they tour Live Forever: Elizabeth Peyton, an exhibition featuring some 100 paintings, drawings, and prints portraying the artist’s friends and personal heroes from the worlds of art, music, fashion, and politics. Talk with your tween about ways that the paintings capture contemporary culture. Investigate the idea of identity and portraiture in a hands-on art-making activity led by Ilene Krug Mojsilov, a teaching artist and coordinator of the Walker’s Art Lab.

Tickets to the tour and workshop are $10 per family ($5 Walker members). To purchase tickets or for more information, call 612.375.7600.
