Fox Maxy’s Mental Wellness Film Workshop is an entry point for experimental expression. This free workshop is designed for anyone interested in visual communication and fostering constructive dynamics in their creative and professional lives, regardless of whether they have a career in film or the arts. Maxy guides participants to move through the internal and external barriers that often prevent us from creating or sharing work. Attendees will create their own one- to two-minute film, navigating the entire process from initial concept and production to editing and screening for an audience.

Participants must be located in the Twin Cities area and able to attend both the preliminary online Zoom session and the in-person workshop at Saint Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN). Each participant must provide their own smartphone with video-recording capabilities for use during the workshop. No prior filmmaking knowledge or experience is required. Participants should have proficiency in basic computer tasks and familiarity with smartphone applications. Beginner-level video editing experience is helpful but not a prerequisite.

The workshop is limited to 20 participants, with priority given to Native applicants. Participation is free, and lunch will be provided. The workshop will be documented.
