Patron’s Circle members and special guests are invited to celebrate the openings of Abdias Nascimento: Interpreter of Brazil and Suzanne Bocanegra: Valley with a first-look at the exhibitions, paired with a private reception, seated dinner, and remarks.
Nascimento’s first US-based survey positions the artist, playwright, intellectual, and Pan-African activist as a vital figure in modern and contemporary art, while Bocanegra’s eight-channel video installation offers a poignant meditation on vulnerability, performance, and connection across time. This evening celebrates the philanthropic support that enables the Walker to present singular artistic voices and meaningful new perspectives.
