In 2017, Luc Decaster focused his lens on workers at the Semperit rubber factory in Argenteuil, France, organizing against the shuttering of the plant in the name of corporate consolidation and the loss of their jobs. Recalling the 20th–century cinematic symphonies celebrating labor and industry, Decaster’s films alternate between the industrial hum of the factory and collective organizing of workers, bearing witness to the social and political struggles in the communities around him. 2022, France, DCP, in French with English subtitles, 61 min.
