Landing to a tepid reception on its release in 1999, David Fincher’s now widely revered cult hit Fight Club prefigures the era of the manosphere that would take hold in contemporary culture in the 2000s and 2010s. Edward Norton stars as the unnamed main character whose rebellion against his staid, status-quo life leads to friendship with the anarchic outsider Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) and initiation into a violent underground counterculture. 1999, US, 35mm, 139 min.

This screening is part of the Once Upon a Time in Manhood cinema series, guest curated by Dallas Goldtooth.
